Mamma Moo fell off the slide and rolled quite a ways. When she came to a stop she looked like a big snow ball with horns. When Crow got there, Mamma Moo was laying there laughing. Crow crossed his wings and looked at her sternly.
“You hit all of the slalom ski poles,” he said. “Every one of them!”
“Moo, that was a lot of fun,” said Mamma Moo and laughed.
“You jumped when you hit the bump, Mamma Moo,” he said. “Funny that the slide didn’t break.”
“The most fun was falling off,” said Mamma Moo.
Jujja’s comments about the book
Out the window where we lived at the time this book came into being was a big, wonderful hill. It was easy to catch the delight and marvel at the skills that the children showed riding down that slope. One little boy claimed that he could ride upwards. ‘Surely you can’t,’ we said. ‘Oh yes. If you go fast enough!’ We used that expression a lot afterwards. It’s a good way to express the colossal power of imagination and play!
