Mamma Moo sat still on her bike in the middle of the road. Crow landed on the steering wheel.
“Caw Mamma Moo, what are you doing?”
“Hi Crow, Lina and I are going to bicycle to town and go to the swimming pool. She says that you can earn a swimming badge where you can go down a slide.”
“Well ruffle my feathers! Cows can’t win swimming badges! Cows shouldn’t go down slides. They can get stuck!”
“Come on now, Mamma Moo,” Lina said. “Let’s hurry so that no one sees that you’re sneaking away.”
Jujja’s comments about the book
Mamma Moo has learned to swim and dive by the pier at home on the farm. Now she’s going with Lina to the water park in town. She’s going to earn a swimming badge! It’s something else for Crow to worry about. The fact that Mamma Moo comes home after having been awarded a Seahorse badge doesn’t cheer him up at all. Just the opposite!
Mamma Moo understands. And of course she arranges it so that Crow will also be awarded a badge of his own. Indoor pools offer a warm, fun place to play for many children in our cold country. Saunas, which at one time were the only places where people could bathe and get clean in our country, have kept their place in our hearts. “You have to have a towel to sit on. And if you have a tail, you need two,” says Mamma Moo.
