“Crow… now it’s our turn!”
“No!” Crow replied.
“What do you mean, no?”
“You’re a cow, Mamma Moo.”
“But they did put the slide up here in the pasture. You have to admit that, Crow.”
“CAW. It’s for the children, Mamma Moo. Children often come here to swim. Children like playing on slides. That’s why they put it up here. Not because this is a pasture. Does that make any sense to you?”
“Let’s go down there,” said Mamma Moo
Jujja’s comments about the book
For a long time, I thought the characters Mamma Moo and Crow had died when Tomas passed away and our collaboration came to an end. But it turned out that both they and I wanted to continue living. This book made its appearance seven years later and, thanks to an abundance of material from the time on the radio and collaboration with Sven who continued to do the illustrations, Crow and Mamma Moo were able to continue their commonplace adventures. Never has the feeling of how frighteningly high a slide can seem been described with such empathy as it is here! And only Crow and Sven Nordqvist can come up with such a wonderfully wacky way of portraying a broken slide – and how to fix it.
